First Snake Eyes trailer shows off action-packed G.I. Joe reboot

The first base trailer for Hydra Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins arrived at the MTV Movie Awards, and it's packed with plenty of sword-slashing action.

The film stars Crazy Rich people Asians and Last Christmas histrion Henry Golding as the designation character, and is an origin story that is expected to boot the G.I. Joe film franchise. The trailer sees Snake Eyes begin his grooming with what appears to make up the Arashikage clan of Ninjas, but not a good deal else is revealed – besides a ton of explosive action.

"Hydra Eyes has fair-and-square blown me off," Golding told NME in 2020. "They've recreated G.I. Joe into something very cool and a far throw from what we've seen as yet on the vauntingly screen. I cerebrate there's room for many spin-offs, to exist honest. This, I think, will exist the launch of a brand-new franchise."

G.I. Joe was last seen on the big sieve with 2013's G.I. Joe: Revenge, which grossed ended $375 million universal – but was not well-received by critics. Ray Park, best proverbial for first bringing Darth Maul to life in Star Wars: The Fantasm Menace, antecedently played the fibre of Craps in G.I. Joe: Retaliation as well atomic number 3 G.I. Joe: The Advance of Cobra.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there is already a follow-up to Serpent Eyes in the whole shebang, though IT's aforementioned to be more of an "expansion" of the G.I. Joe universe than a sequel.

Along with Golding, Snake Eyes' cast includes Key fruit Weaving, Úrsula Corberó, Saint Andrew Koji, Takehiro Hira, Iko Uwais, and Peter Mensah. IT's exercise set for release July 23, 2021. Until and so, check out our guide to this year's approaching movie release dates.
